The Dream

EVERY NOW AND then there arrives a message so profound that you are left changed forever more. This is the story I share with you now, for there will be those of you to whom this tale speaks. It is a story of an angel and a small child whose love and understanding of the value of pain in our lives opened my heart to a great new depth of understanding and changed my life completely.

I was seeing so many of my clients and friends in physical and emotional pain that I felt inadequate as a counselor and therapist to help them. I fell to sleep that night praying for help and new understanding. Quite honestly, I was ready to give up my career and look for something less heartbreaking and frustrating to do. I use to feel I was helping people in emotional pain. Now I felt powerless.

Sometime during the night, a beautiful angel called me from deep sleep and asked me to journey with her into the wisdom of the heart. What an invitation! This angel was very tall and an enchanting shade of blue. There was a soft golden light coming from her body. She led me back in time to Iowa (the Heartland) to a place where all the people were living in fear. We visited homes where children were not allowed out of the house. There
