Chapter 7 Leaving 109

THE FIRST WEEK in May had arrived and it was beautiful. It began just as May should after a very rainy April, with warm breezes and sunny skies. The dull landscape of winter had left completely so that it was now barely a distant memory. Spring flowers were flourishing everywhere and the farmers had begun planting in earnest. People were out walking and jogging in droves and gardeners were in their glory, refurbishing and planting new landscapes. That’s exactly what I felt I was doing in my life – planting new landscapes. I only wish that I new what they were.

It was Wednesday afternoon and I had just one more client left that day – Rhonda. I was looking forward to seeing her. I had a few hours of down time and I decided to just enjoy my office for the afternoon. The clients had slowed down and I could see that soon I would actually be leaving. I had called my more recent clients and sent notices to those I hadn’t seen in over six months explaining the changes. The responses were as varied as the personalities they represented.

Tomorrow I had scheduled lunch with three of my dearest friends and colleagues. I was going to tell them my news; although I was 90% sure they already knew. At least they could hear it from the horse’s mouth, so to speak, and get all the details. I had a feeling they would
