Chapter 1 Waking Up 6
GROGGILY I REACHED over and slammed my hand onto the snooze button of that insipid alarm clock. Damn that thing! The shift from my dream to the harsh reality of my room and another morning facing me was unsettling to say the least. I reached over to touch my husband for comfort, but the bed was cold. I then remembered he had a very early flight and was long gone. Curling up in the fetal position, I closed my eyes and tried in vain to move back into that beautiful space I had been unceremoniously pulled from. That dream; I wanted to be back in that dream. After a few more minutes, I gave in to the futility of it all and began stretching and yawning to wake myself up. Through my morning stupor, the dream haunted me, and I began to pull back in some of the pieces.
As I reviewed the pieces in my mind, I knew I had been given a powerful message. Not only that, but the message was also some kind of answer to my recent feelings of futility. I can’t say I could grasp or understand the meaning of the message entirely, but it occurred to me that I needed to write everything I could remember about this dream. Somehow, I knew it was life changing for me.
